Soccer Nights is only possible through the help of volunteers like you. Use what you are good at in a way that makes a differences - there's a place for you!
About Soccer Nights
Soccer Nights is a free summer evening soccer clinic for children ages 6-12 that seeks to promote athletic skill, leadership development and citywide unity in Cambridge, MA. It's about kids learning to work hard and be part of a team, peace and promoting citywide unity, and collaboration and community among neighbors.

North Cambridge Volunteer Roles
Team Coach
Lead a team of 5-10 kids through various activities and drills planned out by the division leaders; encourage, affirm and motivate each team member; build a united, positive, and fun team; communicate with assistant coaches to cohesively run drills and scrimmages for kids; act as support staff during curriculum and snack times.
• •Ability to motivate, lead and encourage a small group of youth; flexible, dynamic and enthusiastic; experience working with diverse people groups; experience playing or coaching organized soccer.
Assistant Coach
Assigned to a team to assist team coach in demonstrating soccer drills and caring for, encouraging and cheering on the kids on the team, and helping kids complete drills and activities. Assist coach in focusing the kids, helping things run smoothly.
• • Enthusiastic, flexible, able to jump in adn help out where needed. Enjoys physical activity and has soccer skills and adequate in order to demonstrate and teach drills to team.
Registration & Snacks
Work with lead staff person to run nightly registration (includes distributing tshirts and name tages, collecting applications and waivers, and providing additional information to parents. After registration closes, work with lead snack person to prepare snacks and water for division; set out, distribute and clean up water and snacks.
• • Good with details and extremely organized; friendly, polite, assertive and welcoming; strong decision-making abilities; resourceful and able to answer questions from parents.
Field & Curriculum Support
Work with lead staff person to facilitate curriculum each night within division. Create environment in which coaches and their teams can participate and absorb curriculum. Apart from curriculum time, primary role is to be in assigned division with kids, helping to focus them and assisting coach and assistant coaches in any way.
• • Enthusiastic, creative, able to jump in and help out where needed. Works well with kids; able to c0-lead nighly lesson to division.
3-5 Year Old Acitivities
Work with lead staff person to facilitate activities for children who are not old enough to participate in regular programming; includes simple games and activites.
• • Fun, creative, energetic, experienced with children.
Media Team
We’re looking for: Photographers - to take pictures; Videographers - to capture & edit footage and create a 2011 Soccer Nights highlight video; Audio Technicians - to run sound system during week of Soccer Nights.
• • Experience in photography, videography, audio/technology.
